Some pics of our new place

The first configuration of furniture, circa February 2007.

We know, you’ve all been patiently awaiting some photos. Well, we finally got around to it today.

We’ll get to that in just a moment.

The move went well (or mostly well, in any case). We got the piano moved last Saturday without much of a problem And the rest of the move on Sunday took all day, but they got everything in alright. The movers were fantastic and courteous and helped us get a lot of the furniture into place.

And then we were off work for three days and managed to get the bulk of the unpacking done – starting with Master bedroom and bathroom, then Kitchen, living room, dining room, small bedroom, and finally lower level and garage – where the storage happens.

The only real hiccups involved telecommunications. Networking the computers was a bitch because we come to find out there is only one working phone jack on each floor. It’s a pain in the ass, but we’ve been able to work around it.

The other problem was with Bell ExpressVu. They couldn’t mount the satellite dish because there are too many trees in the way, so we’re going to have to switch to Rogers. We’re not too pleased about that because we prefer the interface Bell uses for their television system. But we don’t have a lot of choice.

Anyhow, it will free up the upstairs phone line, because we’re going to be switching everything (internet, television, and phone) over to rogers.

Ron will be sending notice of an updated email address, but don’t worry. This time it will be Gmail account, so hopefully it will never change again.

And now… for your viewing pleasure, we present OUR HOUSE! Have a look. We’ll try to get some sort of walk-through video up for viewing soon.

Now we just need to hang some artwork!

[NOTE: The photos of the house from our first weeks as residents are gone. They were saved on a web service that no longer exists.]
