This year's cottage excursion was the biggest ever. Ten of us converged on Lake Joseph in the Muskokas for 3 full days of swimming in the lake, tanning by the lake, reading by the lake, drinking by the lake, visiting by the lake, eating chips by the lake, playing games by the… well, you get the idea.
We took off from Ottawa on Wednesday after work and managed to make it to the cottage before midnight. The next morning was spent grocery shopping and then, after a brief thunderstorm, it was all about spending time outside. It's ridiculous how calming it is to just spend three days doing nothing – especially when part of that time is spent floating on flat water.
Everyone should have the chance to do that at least once a year. The worries of your everyday life just melt away – at least until the day before you have to leave for home. That's when the stress starts to creep back in.
But of course, even after the first day back at work, we're left with great memories. Here are a few photos.
