What fun! This weekend we got all outdoorsy and Melvin arranged for an afternoon of fun at Camp Fortune in the Gatineau hills. The Camp Fortune Aeial Adventure is essentially a big set of monkey bars for big kids.
Six zones of climing rope ladders, walking balance beams, swinging on ropes, crawling through tunnels, and – the most fun of all – flying along ziplines. And all this happens up in the treetops! Here's a quick video of our frined Paivi coming along a zipline.
We're definitely going back again before the end of the season (it closes Nov 15). At 30 bucks for the day, it's a pretty impressive deal. It took us between 3 and 4 hours to complete the course and basically kept us outside all afternoon on a beautiful fall day.
It's also been an inspiration to try another physical activity we've been putting off – wall climbing. We really didn't find all this weekend's climbing to be to strenuous. It was always a concern that wall climbing would be too taxing, but now we're thinking we might be able to do it without too much trouble. Guess there's only one way to find out!
In the meantime, have a look at some of the photos from Camp Fortune.
