What with all the bad news happening around us (see Tuesday’s post) it was certainly a nice break to forget our troubles for a few hours over the weekend. Our Friends D & I – one of the most ideally matched couples since Harry met Sally (seriously, people, it’s almost sickening!) – threw a spectacular wedding and a generous reception that included free, all-you-can eat poutine and a choice of single malt scotch!
A boisterous and laugh-filled evening of partying with a gaggle of close friends was just what we needed to help put the past week out of our minds.
Of course, with love in the air and liquor in the system, more than a few people felt inclined to ask Junkii and I when our walk down the aisle is gonna happen. The answer? When one of us decides that we’re not the one who should be proposed to! 🙂
Seriously though, while there’s nothing on the horizon, that doesn’t stop us thinking about it. In fact, the day after the wedding we were discussing songs for the first dance.
D & I had a great song for their first dance – the Ellie Goulding version of Elton John’s “Your Song” – but (no word of a lie) as we were discussing it, this came on my iPod and it just seems like the perfect first-dance song.
Nothing is settled yet (don’t get excited) so feel free to steal the idea if you like it. By the time we’re ready to get married, we’ll prolly have half a dozen other songs to choose from.
